Our Time In Nashville

We arrived in Nashville a day earlier than we had planned and decided that since we didn't know when we'd be back again and because we had a cheapy booked for the next couple of nights, we'd stay in Nashville's finest, the Opryland Resort.  It's not even possible to describe how incredible it is in that place.  It is a vast, air conditioned, jungle paradise, how about that?  Plus the pool was killer and the beer and smoothies were a'flowin' so I think we made the right choice.
Mom, Ray, Grandma and Grandpa drove down from Cleveland on Wednesday to meet us for approximately thirty-six of some of the very sweetest hours of our vacation.  We went out to dinner at my favorite Mexican place, mom and I took a mother/daughter trip to Target where we raised the roof with laughter, we all stuffed ourselves at Pancake Pantry and then again, later, at The Loveless Cafe
It was extremely hot in Nashville, but we fought the heat for a bit while Jamie crawled around (though did I mention he can walk now? He took his first steps at the beach house but still prefers his hands and knees for now) at the Parthenon city park.
The visit was too short, as they always are, but we all said good-bye feeling very glad that we had had the opportunity to see one another.
Then, on Friday, the wedding weekend got kicked off with a lunch at a whimsical, hole-in-the-wall taco joint with all of the wedding guests.  We got to meet Selah and Andy's family, all while eating creative and delicious tacos, so, you know, nothing wrong with that.
The pre-wedding events continued on Friday evening with a Bar-B-Q (apparently I don't know how to spell the actual word) dinner.  Jamie slept through almost the entire thing, which was perfect because The Swede and I were able to chat with Selah's folks about anything and everything.  Selah and Andy had decorated the place so cute and the whole thing was very casual and cozy and fun.  Afterwords the "kids" went out for cocktails and ice cream floats but we kept it low key because, hello, there was a wedding in the morning!
