Equipped

The other day I came home from work to find my husband polishing his fishing rods. He's been sneaking new ones into his arsenal slowly over more than a year, presumably so I wouldn't realize how many he had accumulated. But there's no hiding this spectacle! I think he even surprised himself with the magnitude of his inventory. But, you know, you have to have different lengths, right? I had to take this picture from the second floor to get the longest one in the frame. It is taller than the lighthouse and it weighs, like, a pound.

You can have all the equipment in the world, though, and if the fish aren't biting, they aren't biting, as was the case at yesterday's Ascension -day competition in beautiful, historic Trosa. Not a single fish. But there was ice cream! And music! And period costumes! And if you're going to sit by the water with the sun shining on you, you may as well have one of your ten angling rods in your hand.
